Dr. Stuart C. Kozinn is a highly regarded orthopedic surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona who has been serving his patients for over 27 years using advanced joint reconstruction techniques. Dr. Kozinn’s training includes a Joint Replacement Fellowship at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School, and graduation from the highly ranked orthopedic training program at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City (Cornell-Presbyterian Medical Center). His extensive training in surgery includes internship at the New York Hospital, Cornell Medical College, and surgical rotations at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
He received his MD degree from UCLA Medical School in 1982 with honors for his innovative joint replacement research which described bone ingrowth into cementless implants. Dr. Kozinn’s bone ingrowth research won the “All Categories First Prize” award at an international student research competition. He is an expert at muscle sparing surgery techniques that allow his patients to recover as rapidly as possible. Dr. Kozinn specializes in joint reconstructions, and he performs his surgeries at Scottsdale HonorHealth Osborn Medical Center, where he is the Medical Director of the highly rated Total Joint Center. He also serves as the current Chief of Surgery at Osborn and has been the Chief of Orthopedics in the past. Dr. Kozinn is on the teaching faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery. He often teaches medical students in the orthopedic clinic and in the operating room.
Dr. Kozinn is also the author of many scientific articles on hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, and has been recognized internationally for his work in the field of Partial Knee Replacement (Unicompartmental Knee Replacement) surgery. Also a published author on Total Shoulder Replacement, Dr. Stuart Kozinn has been offering his patients the Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement and is able to reconstruct previously untreatable chronic shoulder problems. He also enjoys arthroscopic surgery, and is an expert in the field of rotator cuff repair and shoulder surgery.
